It'll take you less than a minute to walk to this beautiful beach, or to one of the many beach bars lined up along the Beach. There is also water sports, such as parasailing, jet ski, wind surfing, diving, or hobby cats. |

Orient Beach, the "Str. Tropez of the Caribbean" is located on the Northern, French side of St. Martin. It is a beautiful 2+ mile curve of white sand beach, with many beach bars, shops, restaurants, and a variety of water sports. The Eastern section of the beach, near Club Orient, is dedicated to naturists, whereas to the middle and to the West, it' s a typical family beach. |

The living room has a couch and a pull-out sofa (approx. Queen size) to accommodate 2 additional guests in the apartment. It features also 2 comfortable chairs, Cable TV, a DVD- player and free WiFi Internet access. |
Terms
Rates are in US Dollars per week for 2 to 4 people. Rates include 5% tax and maid service once per week. A 30 % deposit is required to make a reservation. Final payment is due in cash on arrival. For the deposit, we do accept checks or wire transfers.To protect our property against damage or loss, we require a refundable Security Deposit of U$800 on arrival. |
Le Farniente is a charming, and neat one-bedroom apartment of 55 m² ( 592 ft²) of size, finely appointed and furnished in contemporary French Caribbean style. All furniture and appliances are brand new and of top quality.

APARTMENT " LE FARNIENTE "
Located in the heart of Orient Bay, opposite the market square of "Orient Village", Le Farniente is the perfect vacation rental for a couple, or a family of 2-4 to spend the holidays in a relaxed, casual ambiance, very close to the beach. St. Martin's most popular area - Orient Beach - offers a large choice for leisure, relaxation and entertainment. Situated in the small complex of "Résidence de la Plage" (Beach Residence), Le Farniente has access to the communal swimming pool of this small complex, just 50 yards from the most beautiful beach of the Caribbean. Restaurants, beach bars, a grocery store, and a French bakery are very near to Le Farniente.
Within a few minutes walk you'll also find a beauty salon and hairdresser, and water sports activities. Some of those businesses are in the same complex or just across the street.
You will appreciate the comfort of our clean and well equipped apartment and its great and convenient location!

The balcony with a Teak table, chairs and lounge chairs provides a nice view of the market square of "Orient Village" and the sea beyond. A perfect place to relax or to watch the coming and going on Orient Bay!
The bedroom is on the air-conditioned sleeper loft and has a French double bed. In the living room is a convertible sleeper sofa for 2 more guests. Thus making Le Farniente a moderately priced vacation rental for up to 4 guests. The apartment is equipped with a safety deposit box for your valuables. There is cable TV with French and US channels, a DVD-player and free WiFi Internet access. |

The bedroom is on the sleeper loft, on the "Mezzanine", which is 15 m² of size and features a French double bed (slightly larger than a Queen), a closet and a chair. From this upper floor room you have a beautiful ocean view. |
Farniente has cable TV, a DVD-player, Wireless Internet access and ample closet space.The private full bathroom has a large stall shower and is located on the main floor of the unit. Linen and towels are provided. Bring your own beach towels though!
The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator with freezer, a microwave, coffee maker, 2 burner cook top, a toaster and all necessary kitchen utensils and glassware, crockery etc. There is also a washer.
The large communal swimming pool of the "Residence de la Plage" is at your disposal. It is shared by only a few tenants of the complex. |

Location of Le Farniente
 Orient Beach is the best serviced and most popular beach of St. Martin/St. Maarten. It is the best beach to go for a swim, hang out at a beach bar or enjoy water sports. There is also a section for nude beach. At the charming market square of Orient Village, there are a few more bars and restaurants, and some activities are going on, usually on Friday nights with live music and a street market.

Some of the best and finest restaurants are in Grand Case, the "Gourmet Capital" of the Caribbean. This quaint, Creole Caribbean village is a 10 minutes drive from Le Farniente. Another 10 minutes, and you are in the French capital of Marigot for (duty free) shopping or visiting the street market on the waterfront of Marigot. Our Apartment on Orient Bay combines a great location with the comfort of a well equipped apartment, available at very moderate rates. Le Farniente is clean, new, and located within the gated community of Orient Bay with 24 hr security.

Editor's note: Le Farniente is a new, beautifully and tastefully refurbished one bedroom unit that sleeps comfortably up to 4 people. The French owners, Francois and Nathalie, did a very nice job in furnishing and decorating their new apartment, acquired in summer of 2007. Until Feburary 2008 they also rented very successfully villa "Maison Gatchoucha" on Oyster Pond, for 3 years (now sold to new owners).
