Villa Amarleja is an attractive 4 bedroom/4 bath villa hidden away in the quiet residential area at Plum Bay in Terres Basses. The large property -sitting on almost 2 acres of land - is one of the few authentic  Creole-style plantation homes on St. Martin, as they were built by the first affluent homeowners who settled in this prestigious area in the 1970s and 80s. The secluded property exuberates the serenity and tranquility of a casual family vacation home. Two of the four bedrooms are bedded with twin beds for children making this house a perfect choice for family getaways in comfortable and luxurious surroundings.

The private pool of 16 x 36ft is made very private and wrapped around by a large sun deck.. Lounge chairs invite for taking a private sunbath and enjoy the tranquility of Villa Amarleja. The generously sized pool and attractive deck are accessed by steps descending from the communal living areas. The outdoor areas were designed for undisturbed relaxation and vacationing in perfect peace and serenity!

On the large verandah is a BBQ, a Teak dining table and a very comfortable new lounge area in West Indies style. The multiple living areas at the villa provide the comfort and amenities to spend some quality time with your friends and family.

This beautiful, spacious room with vaulted ceiling has newly painted white French double doors and shutters on three sides that open to the verandah, the deck and walkways to the bedroom pavilions. The great family room occupies the nitre main house in the center of the property. It consists of the living area, the dining area and the kitchen.

To entertain yourself and family & friends you'll find a flat screen TV with US Dish TV in this room that features hundreds of US and international channels. The family room is also equipped with a DVD and CD-player. The room is bright and airy and allows a gentle breeze to pass through. Note that the Rattan furniture in this room will soon be replaced by modern West Indies living room furniture!

The kitchen with its new breakfast bar provides all necessary appliances and tools to make cooking for a small or large party easy and carefree.

Aside from the entertainment amenities in the family room, there is free WiFi Internet access on premises. Also, there is a washing machine and a dryer in a separate laundry room. Linens and towels are provided, and housekeeping once per week is included in your weekly rental.

When you enter Villa Amarleja, the kitchen will be to your left with a window facing the garden and the driveway. The kitchen adjoins the dining area and has all for family-style cooking. There is a dishwasher, a 6-flame gas stove, an electric oven, a microwave, large refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and a complete set of dinnerware, crockery and kitchen utensils.

Villa Amarleja features 4 equally sized air-conditioned bedrooms with their private en-suite bathrooms. Two bedrooms are located in the poolside pavilion left of the main house. The other two bedrooms are in the right wing of the villa. All bedrooms open to the pool deck or the verandah, and are accessed from outside.

All tastefully decorated bedrooms have a good size, white vaulted ceiling, terra cotta tiles throughout, a dresser and a closet, white French double doors and shutters, and either a window or a 2nd door to the garden. All bedrooms have been refurbished, newly painted and decorated in 2009. Three bedrooms have a private en-suite full bathroom with a stall shower, one sink, large mirror and hair-dryer. One en-suite bath comes with a bath tub (bedroom #2).

Each room has its separate entrance and is accessible from outside, the deck or verandah. The floor plan at Villa Amarleja was designed to allow a high degree of privacy for each couple when traveling together in a group of 4 couples or in a larger family reunion.

Bedrooms 1 + 2 are in the pavilion by the pool and provide a nice view of the Caribbean sea (Plum Bay). Bedroom 1 features a King bed; the second bedroom has a set of twin beds that also convert to a King.

Rates are in US dollars per week (7 nights) and are based on 2 persons per bedroom. Max. occupancy: 8 people. Rates INCLUDE all taxes and service charge, and maid service once per week.
